A Swiss writer, maybe McKoy, has been arrested in Singapore after bombing a train, an offence punishable by caning! Vandalism is punishable in Singapore by three to eight strokes of the cane as well as jail terms of up to three years.

Damn man, you have my respect and deep sympathy!

The writer team were breaking into a high-security subway depot wich is really hard to paint because of terrorism!  His english mate left Singapore fast enough. McKoy was released on Saturday after posting his bail of 100,000 Singapore dollars (£49,000). He will appear in court on June 21.

It is not the first time that the severity of Singapore’s punishment for graffiti artists has hit the global diplomatic stage. In 1994 Singapore ignored pleas for leniency by President Clinton and carried out the caning of an American teenager convicted of vandalism. This is unbelievable caning for graffiti!
